DIY Flash Programing Cable for 3200 LS Colour, CK3200 and 3400 GPS

This tutorial will help you to make Flash Cable for update software on your Parrot  

 

 

 

This cable is to update the Parrot 3200 LS Colour, CK3200 and 3400 GPS. With this cable you can update the software on these units and correct issues, such as “P” . Your PC must have a 9 pin serial (RS232) connector AND a spare USB A port You can use a USB to serial adaptor where no RS232 port is available.

     Also, you can buy this cable on eBay

 

What you need:

1. Display with a cable (pull out cable from bluebox) you no need a bluebox, software is in a display.


2. Max232 (you can buy it on ebay or you can make it, it’s easy. just type on google “how to make   




3. Usb Cable.

    what can i do i use a max3232 but it is not working should i buy max232?

    I used an arduino board as USB to serial TTL interface.
    On your Arduino connect reset to GND and it will act as a straight TTL comport.
    Use +5, GND, tx and rx to connect to your Parrot and it shows up in the Parrot update tool as connected to a comport. Worked like a charm :)

    If you are using FTDI chips for rs232 ( like arduino ), you should changes in com port preperties. Uncheck serial unemator and check serial printer. If thats not done, you will allways stuck on last step flash programming !

    Not sure who posted this, but after my wife's parrot died with the "P" screen this blog helped me revive it.
